Fire-Rated Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP)

Fire-rated aluminum composite panel (ACP) is a type of building panel with enhanced fire safety, mainly used in high-rise buildings, public facilities, and projects with strict fire protection requirements. Its core is made of inorganic mineral-filled materials (instead of standard PE core) to achieve flame retardancy or non-combustibility.

Core Fire Grades & Standards

Grade Definition Key Standards Main Features Suitable Scenarios
A2 (Non-Combustible) Non-combustible, minimal smoke, no dripping GB 8624-2012 A2-s1,d0,t0; EN 13501-1 A2 High fire resistance, inorganic core (≥90% mineral content) High-rise curtain walls, subways, hospitals, tunnels
B1 (Fire-Retardant) Flame-retardant, self-extinguishing after leaving fire GB 8624-2012 B1; EN 13501-1 B Good cost performance, flame-retardant modified PE core Commercial buildings, schools, indoor decoration, general engineering

Key Structure & Fire-Retardant Principle

Core Material: Inorganic minerals (aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide) or flame-retardant modified PE, replacing standard PE core to prevent rapid combustion.

Fire-Retardant Mechanism: High-temperature decomposition releases water vapor to cool the fire; forms a dense char layer to block oxygen and heat, suppressing flame spread and smoke production.

Aluminum Skin: Maintains good flatness and durability, with common thicknesses of 0.4mm+0.4mm or 0.5mm+0.5mm.

Typical Specifications

Total Thickness: 4mm–10mm (common sizes: 1220×2440mm, custom lengths available)

Coating: PE (indoor) or PVDF (outdoor, weather-resistant)

Certifications: Must pass authoritative tests (SGS, INTERTEK) with complete test reports

Application Notes

High-Rise Curtain Walls: Mandatory A2 grade to meet national fire codes.

Public Places (Malls, Schools): B1 grade is recommended for safety and cost balance.

System Matching: For exterior walls, use with fire-resistant insulation materials (e.g., rock wool) to form a complete fire barrier.
