A non-penetrating rivet is applicable for joining if the surface finish is low-gloss (30% gloss or less). Non-penetrating rivets are an alternative method to double-sided tapes and adhesives, but this rivet functions like a mechanical fixing, ensuring the design strength of approx. 300N/piece. Therefore, this rivet is suitable for areas where a reliable fixing is indispensable even in the event of fire or other accidents.
It is important that this aluminium sheet panel non-penetrating rivet is usable only on low-gloss finishes as shown in table3-3, because the fastened trace is visible from the front side in medium and high-gloss finishes, refer to"Appendix7: Modified non-penetrating rivet "in Section 4 for details.
