Aluminum composite panels (ACM / ACP) can be processed with common woodworking and metal fabrication tools.
Utility knife (score & snap) - best for thin 3–4 mm panels, simple straight cuts on site. Score repeatedly along the line then bend and snap.
Circular saw / panel saw - for long straight cuts. Use sharp carbide fine-tooth blade for aluminum/composite. Clamp the panel firmly and feed slowly to reduce heat.
Jigsaw - suitable for curves, openings and irregular shapes, use fine-tooth bi-metal blade.
CNC router - highest accuracy, ideal for bulk production, V-grooving for bending.
Key notes:
Leave the protective film during cutting to protect PVDF / PE coating.
Excessive heat melts the polyethylene core, so avoid forcing the blade.
Smooth burrs with fine sandpaper or file after cutting.
Laser cutting is NOT recommended for ACM panels.
